Today [t_women] cry is from [t_women] lawyers and it goes like this send clients, time and money.
Maybe [t_women] legal industry should consider asking Warren to re-write his song especially for [t_women]m. A song that will help lawyers obtain new quality clients who can pay [t_women]ir bills while giving lawyers more time.
The ultra-ultra competitive legal industry is awash in all kind of headaches which make [t_women] day-to-day life of practicing law not much fun.
Finding new quality clients is almost a full-time job. There are so many legal specialties flooded with o[t_women]r lawyers offering [t_women] same specialty that [t_women] public is taking [t_women] Wal-Mart approach and buying from [t_women] lowest-cost provider.
Unfortunately this pattern just makes things worse, as lawyers feel [t_women] pressure to compete on priceso [t_women]y lower [t_women]ir fees, which causes [t_women]ir competitors to do [t_women] same.
Ultimately this produces a downward spiral for legal fees which benefits [t_women] public (maybe) but hurts law practices.
Todays legal client has [t_women] same problems as yesterdays legal client had but [t_women]y want more-for- less and [t_women]y dont even want to pay for it.
These new clients are well informed, [t_women]yre internet savvy, [t_women]y ask for discounts and [t_women]y shop for lawyers like [t_women]y shop for a new TV.
When [t_women]y finally make a decision to retain a lawyer[t_women]y start acting like [t_women]y are [t_women] only client [t_women] lawyer has. They expect [t_women]ir new lawyer to take [t_women]ir endless phone calls, get [t_women]ir case filed or settled overnight, balk at retainers and slow pay or no pay on future invoices.
But wait [t_women]re is morebecause many lawyers feel forced into taking [t_women]se new clients at low fees, [t_women]y often find [t_women]mselves working on cases which wont make [t_women]m any money.
Once a lawyer gets to this pointits not good for [t_women] client or [t_women] lawyer. The lawyer realizes that [t_women]y cant put anymore time into a case, as [t_women] client is not going to pay moreso [t_women]y want to end [t_women] case as soon as possible and get it off [t_women]ir desk.
The client is still thinking (hoping) for [t_women] best possible outcome (typically very unreasonable) and [t_women] lawyer simply wants [t_women] case over. The lawyer feels bad about [t_women] case as its become a financial train wreck and [t_women]y realize [t_women]y should have charged [t_women] client a much higher fee.
The bottom line is most Lawyers are working harder today and making less than [t_women]y were 10 years ago. The hourly rates [t_women]y quote are often not realized and if [t_women]y are its because of a huge amount of personal effort being expended each hour. Something most lawyers cant keep up for long.
